Combustion of hydrocarbons with pure oxygen as oxidizer is used, e.g., in high-temperature processes such the partial oxidation (POX) to produce synthesis gas high purity. Due prevailing temperatures, active cooling required for many parts. For laboratory-scale experiments, dimensions key parts are too small conventional manufacturing processes. One example a burner plate especially developed POX The complex geometries several hundreds nozzles and perpendicular channels across diameter cannot be manufactured way. this burner, advantage chemical etching thin sheet material stacking multiple layouts was used assemble layout burner. then diffusion-bonded, allowing design realized. CH4/O2 flames at laboratory scale could thus studied under industrially relevant conditions.
